Overview #
Lumo Forms is a WordPress form builder that helps you create forms for contact requests, lead generation, surveys, feedback, and other website needs. Its drag-and-drop builder lets you arrange form fields without writing code.
This guide explains how to install Lumo Forms and prepare it for use on your website.
Step 1: Open Your WordPress Dashboard #
Log in to your WordPress admin area. You will need an account with permission to install plugins.
Navigate to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
Step 2: Search for Lumo Forms #
Use the plugin search field to search for Lumo Forms.
Check the plugin name and developer details to ensure you select the correct plugin. Click Install Now.
If you have downloaded a valid Lumo Forms ZIP package, you can instead select Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP file, and install it.
Step 3: Activate the Plugin #
After installation, click Activate.
Lumo Forms should now be available in your WordPress admin area. Open its dashboard or form-building section to begin creating forms.
Step 4: Create Your First Form #
Open the Lumo Forms form builder and create a new form. If a template library is available in your installed version, choose a suitable starting template. Otherwise, start with a blank form.
Add the fields you need, arrange them in the desired order, and configure the form’s settings.
For a basic contact form, consider adding:
- Name
- Message
- Submit button
Only collect information that you actually need.
Step 5: Save and Test Your Form #
Save your form and preview it. Check that labels, required fields, validation messages, and the submit button work as expected.
Submit a test entry and verify that the submission is handled correctly.
Common Installation Issues #
The plugin ZIP cannot be uploaded: Confirm that you uploaded the plugin ZIP itself rather than an extracted folder or an unrelated download.
The plugin cannot be activated: Check the WordPress and PHP requirements for your installed Lumo Forms version. Review the PHP error log if necessary.
The plugin does not appear in the admin menu: Confirm that activation succeeded and that your WordPress account has the required permissions.
